We are now able to supply (and fit, if required) a retro styled radio that fits the dash cubby on a 1970's Citroen DS. These are proving very popular as the specifaction includes:
50w x 4 internal amplifier, Remote mountable SD card / USB reader, Front and rear AUX input ports, AM/FM Tuner with 30 presets and RDS and 2 Pairs of RCA outputs.
It is not able to control an ipod, only play the music, and does not have a CD player slot as it is too small to fit a disc, but if desired a CD changer can be connected.
The radio as standard requires a lot of additional work to fit a DS dash properly, so we ask that you send us the empty cubby from your dash which we will then fit the radio to and return it to you. We do the hard stuff, leaving the easier stuff for you or a competent local installer. When you get it back, it is just a matter arranging the wiring on the car to suit, slip the assembly back into the dash and secure with two screws provided. The wiring required is the same as for any normal car radio: Permanent 12V, switched 12V, earth, aerial, speakers and any other optional equipment such as CD changer.
It comes with a wiring diagram and all instructions necessary, however we can fit and wire it for you if you wish at additional cost. The cost to supply and fit the radio to your cubby and return it to you for fitting into the car is only £495.00 +VAT
We supply and fit electronic ignition systems and have fitted electric windows, electric mirrors and central locking to D models. We have even been asked to fit anti-lock brakes to an SM, which would be perfectly feasible, but very expensive.
